About The Caley Sample Room

Superb 5pm.com
Do not take your girlfriend's mother to the Caley Sample Room! You do not need her along every time you go for a meal. Even if her daughter is invited. Keep the Caley secret. The food and drink are from a Mitchelen star Resturrant.

First visit
Really enjoyed our visit. The food was lovely and the menu gave lots of choice (don't forget your glasses 🤓)
The only negative, and it's a minor one, but hand cut chips are served up in the little metal baskets. And I do mean little.....portion was therefore little too! We had to have a pudding to fill up the gap 👍🏻

Inviting North Merchiston bar and kitchen
Located on Angle Park Terrace in Edinburgh’s North Merchiston, The Caley Sample Room is a pleasingly down to earth, neighbourhood bar that does great food. Along with long, tall wooden tables, beamed ceilings and white-washed walls, there are sunny booth window seats. Nine real ale lines showcase the good work of local breweries and there is a huge range of canned and bottled beers from around the world as well as wines and spirits. A Monday pub quiz, sport on the big screen, occasional live music and the highly competitive dog of the week photo keep it all lively.
Innovative and modern bar menu
Serving from breakfast through to dinner, the food menus at The Caley Sample Room are designed to cover most occasions from a morning plate of eggs Benedict to a dinner of beef shin pie via an after work sharing board.
Whether you opt for a lunchtime burger, the Scottish haddock in Barney’s Beer batter or a rib-eye steak dinner, you can be sure that food has been locally sourced. The menus include veggie options like the aubergine, mushroom and chickpea curry or the caramelised onion and Gruyère tart. The menus are supplemented by daily specials such as pan-fried coley with Puy lentils, chorizo and smoked peppers.
Dalry transport links and attractions
