About Victor and Carina Contini Ristorante
Traditional Italian restaurant in the New Town
Victor and Carina Contini Ristorante is a family-run Italian in a converted bank building on George Street in Edinburgh’s New Town. With imposing pillars, high ceilings and mosaic flooring, the venue retains a feeling of splendid grandeur. While the setting is impressive, the welcome is as warm as it is personable. Sustainable, seasonal and fresh ingredients prepared with care are at the heart of the kitchen’s work. Younger diners are welcome and have their own menus.
Carefully sourced produce, classic Italian cuisine
The menus at Victor and Carina Contini Ristorante are always evolving but authentic Italian flavours are key. The selection of freshly made pastas includes the ever popular contadino: orecchiette pasta shells with Italian piccante sausage, cremini mushrooms, dried porcini, rocket, fresh cream and Parmigiano Reggiano. The pizza are made with the finest Neapolitan flour and the chefs are happy to take requests for toppings. The restaurant always has an interesting selection of regional dishes such as the cassouela from Lombardy, a slow cooked Luganega pork sausage and spring cabbage stew. Gluten-free and vegetarian dishes are available.
