Scottish Restaurant Awards Winners 2010
The Scottish Restaurant Awards 2010 in association with 5pm.co.uk and Business 7 were held last night at The Corn Exchange in Edinburgh. These awards, now in their third year, acknowledged the outstanding creativity, customer service and top quality dining that is on offer throughout Scotland.
As dining out is a big part of life in Scotland, the restaurant trade is a vital component in the essence of Scottish life, as both an employer and as a service provider. Whether it’s fine dining or good value family meals, these awards celebrate and reward Scotland's very best restaurants in their field across sixteen categories. The winners whether they are the restaurants, restaurateurs or chefs they all are setting the standards for others in the industry to aspire to.
The list of winners are diverse with a geographical spread throughout Scotland with the top accolade of Restaurant Of The Year won by The Peat Inn in Fife, while its chef/proprietor, Geoffrey Smeddle was handed the hotly contested Chef Of The Year crown, so a double prize for this prestigious establishment.
