Di Maggio's (West End)

Part of a chain of family-oriented, Italian American restaurants which are hugely successful throughout Glasgow and the surrounding area, Di Maggio’s West End is popular with everyone from families, students and couples to parties. Children are particularly well looked after with their own menu, highchairs, entertainment packs and, most importantly, an under standing and friendly attitude. The West End branch was one of the first to open and the 120 seat restaurant celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2010. Its handy location, close to a number of museums, galleries and Kelvin Park, partly explain its wide ranging appeal but the real pull is the food.

Di Maggio’s West End knows exactly what Glasgow wants from an Italian American kitchen and delivers it every time. There is a big range of pasta and pizza which swings from well known combos like the New York spaghetti and meatballs to house specialities like the Di Maggio calzone which is stuffed with a little bit of everything. As well as pizza and pasta, there are nachos, stuffed mushrooms, BBQ baby back ribs, mussels and minestrone and that’s just a selection of the starters. The main courses run from chicken, rib and steak dishes to salads and a choice of seafood dishes created with fish landed in Scotland. The biggest problem you will face at Di Maggio’s in Glasgow’s West End is how on earth do you make a choice?
