Since opening in 1998, Gamba has confidently established itself as one of Glasgow’s leading seafood restaurants and it has both the awards and glowing reviews to prove it. The kitchen and management team responsible for Gamba are veterans of Glasgow’s eating out scene and their expertise has made the city centre restaurant top of the list for many seafood lovers. The dining room is a bright, light space with a subtle Mediterranean theme as well as an eye-catching mural that illustrates many of the species of fish and seafood that feature on the menu at Gamba.
Glasgow seafood
Although there is always a beautiful fillet of Buccleuch Estate beef on the menu, Gamba is best known in Glasgow for its seafood. A good proportion of the dishes on the menu lean towards Asian flavours as in Gamba’s signature fish soup with crabmeat, stem ginger, coriander and prawn dumplings. However, you are just as likely to find a more Mediterranean dish of Isle of Ghia halibut with tomato, basil, smoked haddock and borlotti beans. Other dishes are simply classics such as the dressed Cornish crab with creamed horseradish, smoked caviar and chives or the grilled Lemon sole. Which ever corner of the globe your meal is flavoured with, Gamba offers one of the most memorable seafood experiences in Glasgow.
