29 - The Grill At The Square

Every room of Glasgow's swankiest private members club 29 at Royal Exchange Square is exceptionally tasteful, and naturally The Grill on the Square is no exception. Adjoining the lavish but comfortable Oyster Bar, decorated in polished wood, crisp white and neutral tones and overlooking Royal Exchange Square (currently lit with hundreds of tiny lights) this is the place to come to impress, for a special occasion, or just for a well deserved treat. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable, but never overbearing and the atmosphere is laid back for such a smart and fashionable venue. Come for a meal and you may be tempted to invest in a full membership! The restaurant has recently been awarded a Silver Eat Scotland Award, and it is very well deserved. The menu leans towards traditional Scottish, with a few international classics thrown in for good measure, look out for Haggis, Neeps and Tatties with Drambuie cafe au lait and pan seared calf’s liver with Dijon mustard mash. As you would expect from a restaurant called The Grill there is also a good selection of steaks from a 10oz half popeseye to the extravagant Surf and Turf comprising of an 8oz fillet steak with large prawns, and all cooked exactly as you like.
